Welcome to BAO'S STUDIO, where elegance and artistry come together to create one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces that are as unique as the individuals who wear them.

Prologue

Early years

I'm about to tell a cliché story: a little girl who used to love collecting beads and charms and creating her own accessories finally became a professional jewelry designer and started her own brand.

However, this is not a fairy tale where things just magically happen. She had to make a plan, and work hard for it.

Chapter I

College

She began researching the jewelry design industry and realized that she would need formal training to turn her dream into reality. She enrolled in the Metals & Jewelry program at CSU-Long Beach and worked tirelessly to master her craft. She learned about different materials and techniques, and soon began to develop her own style.

In 2017, she presented her first jewelry exhibition.

Chapter II

Study Abroad

After working two years in the industry, she decided to continue her education in Rome, Italy in 2021. She was excited to immerse herself in the rich culture of Rome and to be inspired by the city's many artistic treasures.

At the Istituto Europeo di Design, she was mentored by the former creative director of Bulgari, Luca Bartoleschi. As she completed their Master of Jewelry Design program, she gained a deep understanding of design methodology and expanded her knowlege and skills in jewelry making.

Chapter III

A brand was born

The girl's name is Skylar Bao.

In 2022, she finally felt ready to create her own brand that reflected her aesthetic and philosophy to jewelry and life. With the help and encouragement of her business partner Bernard, they founded BAO'S STUDIO and launched their first collection.
